Scott Green
Scott Green, a longtime resident of the Big Island, is well-known for his wildly popular line of sand cast aluminum artwork depicting petroglyphs and the Hawaiian Islands chain.
He also creates the Hawaiian Islands chain in the hardwoods monkeypod and koa. Fun fact: The word koa means “brave, bold, fearless, or warrior” in Hawaiian, and the historically plentiful wood became known by this name because of its early use in canoes and weapons.
Scott says, “Each piece of wood I carve is different, and it is always an adventure to see how the grains of the wood enhance the artwork.”
