Peter Jefferson
Peter Jefferson is a colorist with an impressionist style. He says, “I use color and light to create drama in all my work.”
Peter began drawing as an engineer in Boston, Massachusetts. He received a master’s in architecture at Carnegie-Mellon University, where he first began painting in watercolor and studying life drawing. His art studies flourished at the DeCordova Museum School in Concord, Massachusetts, and they continue with master oil painter Ovanes Berberian.
Peter has directed the Kohala PleinAir Painters since 2013. His artwork has won numerous awards including the 2022 Hawaiian Plein Aire Perspective. Additionally, his art has been featured in many individual gallery shows, magazines, and television, with his hula work being featured on the HGTV program “Building Hawaii” (episode 7).
