Diana Lehr
Educated at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Diana Lehr first came to Maui in 1984 on a traveling scholarship one week after graduation. Since then, Lehr has exhibited her work on Maui and Oahu, as well as in Los Angeles, San Diego, Palm Desert, Seattle, New Orleans, Philadelphia, and New York City.
Diana is known for her contemporary paintings and video installations. A clip from her video, “Midsummer Night’s Dream,” went viral across the globe on multiple platforms in 2017, garnering upwards of 100 million views. Another video installation, “Surfing Beneath the Surface,” opened at the Flatiron Prow Art Space in New York City in 2020, and Untapped New York featured it in their January 2020 art guide as the no. 2 public art installation not to miss.
“I am drawn to invisible forces that animate our world, I am fascinated by the effects of tides, wind, gravity and light,” says Diana. “I engage these elements in my paintings, videos, and light installations.”
