White Horses (Maui Waves) – Hawaii Fine Art Photo Print

« | »

It’s been a long-awaited dream of mine to photograph the immense and rare occurring waves at Pe’ahi – Jaws. On a special morning in December 2020, that dream unexpectedly came true. I was granted access onto a private boat to witness the raw power of this wave up close and personal. Watching these waves break was like a stampede of white horses. An unforgettable experience and truly a sight to behold. After 8 hours on the water, coming home with dried salt caked all over my face and neck  from the spraying mist of Pe’ahi felt like a personal badge of honor as a photographer. Limited edition of 200.

A Deeper Purpose

For every piece of art purchased, a native Hawaiian tree will be planted to help perpetuate and conserve the culture, land, and ecological resources that sustain us here in the islands. Cody’s reverence for creative expression and wilderness preservation has led him to explore spectacular locations across Hawai’i. His fine art practice stems from a passion to document the majestic wilds that are still left to be found in the islands, preserving their natural beauty through visual arts and hands-on restoration work with numerous environmental organizations.
