Hawk Pig Board

At a Hawaiian lu’au, a pig board is used to present the kalua pig after it has been removed from the underground pit oven known as an imu.

The ʻio, Hawaiian hawk, is a raptor endemic to Hawai’i and the only hawk that is native to Hawaiʻi.  Currently, the ‘io can only be found on the Big Island although fossil evidence shows it previously inhabited Hawaiʻi, Molokaʻi, Oʻahu, and Kauaʻi.
