SMALL TOWN * BIG ART Murals @ Wailuku, Maui ~ From STBA: “Developed through a 2018 Our Town grant by the National Endowment for the Arts, SMALL TOWN * BIG ART is a creative placemaking collaboration of the County of Maui + Hale Hō'ike'ike at the Bailey House / Maui Historical Society + Maui Public Art Corps working to develop an arts district that celebrates the distinctive sense of place, history, and culture of Wailuku, Hawai'i. Professional artists are paired with community consultants to co-create visual, performance, and experiential art installations that align with 'ōlelo from Mary Kawena Pukui’s ‘'Ōlelo No'eau: Hawaiian Proverbs and Poetical Sayings.’” Ongoing ~ visit www.smalltownbig.org for more information.


Sunflower Farm Music Fest @ Pacific Biodiesel Technologies Farm, Maui ~ From Pacific Biodiesel: “Pacific Biodiesel and Mana'o Radio are presenting the Sunflower Farm Music Fest to support Hawai'i’s Food Security! The event will take place on Earth Day - Saturday, April 22, 2023 - from 9AM to 5PM in a blooming field of sunflowers at the family farm of Pacific Biodiesel founders Bob and Kelly King in Maui’s Central Valley. Tickets are on sale now for this all-day live music and farm tour benefit event that will raise funds and awareness for Hawai'i Food Hub Hui, a collaboration of 14 food hubs around the state that provide vital support to small- and medium-sized local farms by working to aggregate, store, process, and distribute locally grown, culturally preferred foods to Hawai'i’s residents.” Visit www.biodiesel.com for more information.


Hawai'i Craftsmen - Raku Ho'olaule'a 2023 @ Downtown Art Center, Oahu ~ From Hawai'i Craftsmen: “Founded in 1977, Raku Ho'olaule'a (a celebration of raku) brings together ceramic artists to participate in raku and related firing techniques at a campout which is held in a beautiful beach setting on the North Shore of Oahu.
