Willow B. Norris was already an accomplished Seattle artist when she moved to Maui in 2006. The magic of the island transformed her primarily black ink style into enchanted tropical worlds, filled with the hidden symbology of dragonflies, koi, tropical flowers and butterflies. Her paintings reflect deep inner peace, capturing the love and enjoyment of life.
Primarily self taught, Willow also attended various technique classes at The Art Institute of Boston and the University of Washington. A true artist, Willow has found and developed her very own unique style. She laboriously combines multiple techniques, never resorting to digital imaging shortcuts. Willow brought intaglio etching techniques from plate to paper, spending countless hours with ink pens on details best viewed in 10x magnification. The bold richness of colour evident in her pieces is achieved by applying up to 20 layers.
Collectors all over the world enjoy the inspirational presence of her limited editions in their homes and offices.
