Giclée, pronounced 'jhee-CLAY' (from the French 'to spray') is a name given to the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using high tech ink-jet printing. The Giclée process takes a high definition scan of the original artwork and then reproduces it onto quality archival paper using a sophisticated system of micro-sprayed inks and results in an image that is amazingly close to the original. The artist is involved at every step of the way to ensure that the giclee matches the original piece. This creates a product that has the look and feel of an original at a reduced cost than an 'original'.
