MAUI HANDS GALLERY IN MAKAWAO WELCOMES PATRICIA HEATH AS ARTIST IN RESIDENCE ON THIRD FRIDAY THE 17TH FROM 4-8.

All the pieces I make are handcrafted mostly out of pure silver and have the essence and energy of Maui plus a bit of me as well. To me, Maui is a place of hope and courage. Somewhere where you find what’s deep within yourself and you choose whether to evolve or retrieve. As far as my energy goes, well I’m the woman that sticks up for her girlfriends. I’m the one that believes we all deserve to stand up for ourselves and believe we can achieve all we want. So this jewelry is packed with love, hope, sassiness, courage, strength, perseverance, dreams, gutsiness and a belief that all is well.

Christine Waara

Paia, June-ChrisWaara

MAUI HANDS GALLERY IN PAIA WELCOMES PAINTER, CHRISTINE WAARA AS ARTIST IN RESIDENCE EVERY MONDAY IN MAY FROM 12-4.

"“Light is the subject matter of my newer paintings. Without light we would not have color. How much light, placement and direction of light, create the story of light. The change of value, temperature, color, and edges is what gives the subjects of my paintings dimension. In Hawaii, I do what the Hawaiians do. “Talking story” is what we say when we want to get together and share stories. My stories are my paintings I share with you. Christine has taught at the University of Rochester’s Creative Workshop at the Memorial Art Gallery and has conducted workshops and given talks at various art clubs across the country. She currently works part time at Maui Hands art gallery which keeps her connected to customers from all over the world as well as learning about other artists and how they create their art. When she’s not painting, she’s usually outside hiking, biking, swimming in the ocean, tending her garden, or at yoga.”
