Ian Haight

Lahaina, November - Ian Haight

MAUI HANDS GALLERY AT 612 FRONT STREET, LAHAINA PRESENTS ARTIST IAN HAIGHT HE WILL BE WORKING ON HIS BEACH AND OCEAN INSPIRED PAINTINGS EVERY FRIDAY IN NOVEMBER FROM 4:30PM – 7:30PM

Ian Haight was born on the island of Oahu and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. As a kid, his mom would take him to the beach at every possible moment even though they lived 20 miles from the shorelines. He would surf all winter and fish all summer and draw waves while in class during school.

Ian earned a bachelor’s degree in art from the University of Hawaii, Hilo. His love for the ocean and the beauty of Hawaii began then and continues today. His bright realistic style reflects this passion with vibrant colors, exciting landscapes and Hawaiian wildlife portraits. Ian says “Lately I've been bodysurfing into big barreling waves at Makena Beach with my GoPro camera and then painting from these crazy photos!”

Besides his passion for art and surfing, art, Ian is a Team Ambassador for several surf related companies. “The Ocean keeps me humble, as you can never have it wired. Helping to heighten awareness of the special environment we have here is important to me. My art is one way of showing how beautiful and precious our environment is. I’m really stoked to be a part of Maui Hands!”
