The art of Elaine C. Starrett

Regardless of subject - be it seascapes, landscapes, or abstracts, it is my wish to evoke a feeling of peace for those who view my art. Many of my paintings are dream-like in nature, and emerge from a spiritual place within me.

Painting with oils, acrylics, watercolor, and mixed media, I enjoy a wide range of style from representational local scenes, to abstracts. I focus on color, mood, and feeling. Much of my work is intuitive in nature and is drawn from my imagination. I incorporate iridescent mediums and various textures, such as hand-made papers and gold leaf to my work, giving radiance and light to each piece.

I am a native of Palo Alto, California, and lived in the Carmel area for two years, where my passion for art was ignited before moving to Maui 15 years ago. Living on Maui has continued to serve as a great inspirational place to develop as an artist. Here, the beauty, light, and atmosphere have inspired me to transform and evolve my work.
