Aweepano Vivian Satow, after making her mark in the world of Southwestern art, is now at home in Hawaii. An artisan, carver, sculptor, Aweepano's work is a reflection of her deep connection to the earth and tribal people. Her work honors its source whether it is wood from the great redwoods, whale or walrus ivory, the precious healing greenstone (puunamu) or her unique ethnic beadwork. Her unique talent as a carver is not a result of any formal study, but has been completely self taught and evolved from her heartfelt inspiration.
