The art of Frances Ku
Taipei, Taiwan. As a child, Frances Ku preferred drawing to doing anything else in the world. After she and her family moved to Okinawa, Japan, she avidly participated in art contests and exhibitions throughout the school and community. She was particularly inspired by her high school art teacher, Ruth Ann Goold, a supreme watercolorist. Enticed by the idea of becoming a fashion designer, Ku applied and was accepted to Parsons School of Design in New York City, where an art instructor spotted her talent in painting and encouraged her to pursue fine art. Since then, Frances Ku has been living on the Hawaiian island of Maui, forging her mark in the art world with her exotic paintings. They are collected all over the world, gracing walls with their beauty and elegance
