The art of Margaret Barnaby

Margaret Barnaby has been working as a studio art jeweler for over thirty years. Educated at Rhode Island School of Deishn, she did a special study of repousse technique at Reed and Barton Company. This hammered surface decoration process allows precise detail and texture without the use of castion. Each piece is individually designed and fabricated using sterling silver, 18kt. golds and a wide variety of stones. Important sources of inspiration are sea life, insects and plants. Travel in the tropics and observation in the backyard have enhanced her work. Recently she has been printmaking and painting watercolors.
